Under the auspices of this frail adornment with a rich history, here you will find a community of warm-hearted people, dedicated to preserving their cultural and traditional practices wherever they live.
Since March 2022, EMOTIE has committed to the mission of promoting our heritage everywhere in the world, starting with the symbol of Mărțișor. Through our events we bring together members of the Romanian, Moldovan and Bulgarian diaspora, alongside those of their respective host countries, in the spirit of kindness, unity in diversity and mutual respect.

The story
At the brink of spring, the Mărțișor, a small but symbolically rich ornament, becomes widespread in Southeastern Europe, especially in Romania, Moldova, and Bulgaria. Worn on the chest or wrist, or hung on branches and gates, the Mărțișor is an ancient talisman meant to ward off evil spirits and protect against illness and bad luck. Beyond belief, giving a Mărțișor expresses affection, respect, and gratitude.
In 2017, the traditions linked to March 1st were added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Wherever you are, Mărțișor wearers recognize each other and share a sense of belonging. We cherish this symbol and aim to spread it worldwide, sharing its message of hope and love, while promoting our cultural traditions.
